How to install a solar roof vent - Roof vent installation for hot attic

If your attic is getting extremely hot, proper attic ventilation is needed. A solar roof vent can regulate your attic temperature while helping you save electricity costs when cooling your house. An attic vent helps maintain the integrity of your house, removing unwanted humidity, and heat from your home. A solar vent costs nothing to run with only a one-time upfront charge for the unit itself. Again, the benefits of installing a solar vent are many, including lower air conditioning bills. Install vent 18 - 24 inches from the top of the roof, the ridge. 2. Cut hole according to template diameter, make a pilot hole first then use a Sawzall to cut hole. Make sure Sawzall is flat and leveled with roof as you make the hole. 3. Add roof sealant to any loose shingles and screw, nail holes. 4. Size solar vent to attic, if installing one vent, install close to the middle of roof as possible. Ensure you have soffit vents for roof vent to pull in fresh air and operate properly. Note that I personally installed this solar vent because my attic was reaching 140F+. This was causing my air conditioning air handler not to function properly. I had components fail, like the air handler relay and fan motor. Installing this solar vent has help regulate attic temperature and allowed the AC to function properly.
