FLYING IN KENYA: Air Kenya, DHC-6-300 Twin Otter, Nairobi (WIL) - Kamok

Air Kenya betreibt ab dem Flughafen Wilson neben der DHC-6-300 auch mehrere Cessna Grand Caravan C208B, DHC-8-200 sowie noch eine DHC-7-100. Dabei stehen dutzende Ziele in Kenia im Flugplan. Zusätzlich gehören Regional Air und Aerolink ebenfalls zu der Fluggesellschaft. Im Januar 2026 konnten wir die Piloten auf einem Umlauf begleiten. Von Nairobi ging es nach Kamok, dann nach Samburu und nach Lewa. Anschließend flogen wir zurück zum Flughafen Wilson. Die Fluggesellschaft hat ein Herz für Luftfahrtfans. Auch wenn die DHC-7-100 leider während des Aufenthalts nicht flog, konnten wir das Flugzeug besichtigen. Das eigene Terminal ist gemütlich und bietet einen tollen Ausblick auf den Verkehr. The flight schedule includes dozens of destinations within Kenya. Regional Air and Aerolink are also part of the airline. In January 2026, we were able to accompany the pilots on a round trip. We flew from Nairobi to Kamok, then to Samburu and on to Lewa. We then flew back to Wilson Airport. The airline has a soft spot for aviation enthusiasts. Although the DHC-7-100 was unfortunately not flying during our stay, we were able to tour the aircraft. Their own terminal is cosy and offers a great view of the traffic.
