450 Job Applications Later, My Life Completely Changed | Joining British Army Extra

Change is a funny thing — it turns up exactly when you least expect it. Six months out of work. 450 job applications. Feeling genuinely lost. That was where I found myself after spending the last seven years in marketing and media. Like a lot of people right now, I was struggling. Then something came along that flipped my world upside down. What some of you might not know is that I've been an Army Reservist for the past 11 years. And somehow I've managed to wangle a mobilisation to Sandhurst — or, as I like to call it, the Hogwarts of the Army. Over the next few months I'll be working with British Army Extra (BAXS): the creative arm of the British Army. They specialise in connecting with a wider audience through things like Twitch, behind-the-scenes access, sporting events, and all the genuinely cool stuff the Army is doing that you don't normally get to see. For me, it's a chance to combine two of my favourite things — being in uniform and making content. I'm hugely excited about it.
