On Prayer - St. Ignatius Brianchaninov

“The path to God is prayer…. What air is for the life of the body, the Holy Spirit is for the life of the soul. By means of prayer, the soul breathes this sacred, mystical air.” In this excerpt from St. Ignatius’ essay “On Prayer” we catch a glimpse into the man’s inspired experience of communion with God. He calls us to recognize a deeper, more humble approach to God, our King and Master. He helps us remember the goodness of God even when our prayers are not answered as we desire.
