BADGER WATCH - LOCOMOTIVE SERVICES LIMITED CLASS 89 ELECTRIC 89001 @ STAFFORD ON WCML TEST 24.11.25

Even after a tiring day at work, the expectation of seeing the class 89 "Badger" was enough to drag SJ and I, and my son Dan, through the door and onto Stafford Station. There was quite a crowd, unusual for a lekkie, and we were treated firstly to a class 88 and a 92! The badger arrived, DVT leading, 87 in the middle, then stayed in the old Royal Mail platform for around twenty five minutes, plenty of time to take a good look, before my son shouted it had the road, and a very slow, deliberate, and understated yet still magnificent departure ensued. Well done LSL, all your locomotives look amazing. There was still time to see some 90s, not filmed due to lack of disc space, and the superb Midland Pullman HST, which was filmed albeit rather briefly but hopefully capturing the atmosphere. Great to meet fellow YouTubers SimOnTrains and West Midlands Day Ranger. A great occasion.
