Home Essentials (SMC) HE0012OW 12" Oscillating Desk Fan | Initial Checkout

The initial checkout of a Home Essentials branded 12" oscillating desk fan model HE0012OW Z. The unit was manufactured by Shell Electric, or SMC. It is dated April 2006, which would put it likely to have been sold during the Summer of 2006. I believe Home Essentials was a Target store brand. This is an interesting SMC design I haven't seen before. The base and control set it out of the ordinary, which I suspect was done to reduce manufacturing costs. The unit is a pleasant surprise for 2006, it's quite powerful and very quiet. The build quality is above average for the time, which was well into the cheap era at that point. I remember a handful of Home Essentials branded fans back in the 2000s which creates my interest in the brand. I am particularly looking for a smaller, probably 12" or 14", all metal high velocity fan that was sold under the brand which I remember seeing in the art classroom back in elementary school. I haven't seen any traces of the Home Essentials brand within the last decade or so, now within just a few months, two different Home Essentials models have surfaced. This phenomenon is quite widely reported among collectors -- a sought after item will not surface for years on end, then multiple will appear in a short period of time after the first is found.
