SO COOL! 1968 Conn 6H/5G valve trombone review
For many valve trombonists the go-to instrument for many years was (and still is) the Conn 5G; this model, both on it's own and combined with other bell sections (such as the 6H and 48H Connstellation) has been renown for it's sound, response and ease of play (and was also the instrument of choice for valve trombone master Bob Brookmeyer.) While I have been aware of these instruments for many years I have never had a chance to put hands on one until now! On first glance it absolutely holds up to the hype; the sound had more character then almost any other valve trombone I have played and the unique timbre of the Conn instruments of this era comes through cleanly. It plays beautifully into the pedal register and into the 10th partial + and is a blast to play! Take a listen and feel free to share your thoughts or if you have experience with this or other valve trombones! Find out more about this trombone at https://shop.schmittmusic.com/1968-co...
