If you've been watching this vlog until now, you've probably seen practically all of my apartment already, but I hope this is still interesting to watch! I didn't explain this well in the video so here's some info about apartments in Korea: What is an Officetel? It's a Konglish combination of "Office" and "Hotel" basically meaning a studio apartment. (Although people do actually use them for offices, not sure why hotel made it in the name) Anyways, it's basically an efficiency apartment that's nicer than a villa / one room but not as nice (or big) as an apartment, which can be a bit hard to buy / rent. How Did I Find it? Jigbang, but eventually just walked into a real estate agent's office and asked about it. If you're not fluent (or somewhat decent) in Korean, I'd bring a friend :) How Much Does It Cost? I got lucky and rented it for 100/70, which means a deposit of 1,000,000 won and 700,000 won monthly, which is very uncommon. Usually, a deposit 10x that amount is required, I just got lucky finding it. Why Is It Practically Empty? I'm too cheap (broke?) to by furniture and honestly, I didn't want to buy a lot of things because it makes it really difficult to move.
