The formula for this second-generation version of the BRZ remains the same: engine up the front, rear-wheel drive, 2+2 seating and plenty of fun for the driver. But with a more powerful (but still not turbocharged!) Boxer engine, and a reworked chassis designed to make it feel less snappy and more safe on the road, is it a true spiritual successor to the first BRZ coupe? Tom White attended the launch event for the 2022 BRZ, where he got to sample it back to back with the first-gen model. He reckons there's plenty to like about this new-gen model - not just in terms of the way it drives, but also the technology on offer, which has taken a big step up since the earlier version, but also in terms of safety gear, as well.
