Do You Really Need to Upgrade Your Strymon Deco?

A few years ago, Deco received a well-deserved upgrade to V2 status. These upgrades include increased processing power, a new JFET preamp input, MIDI control, and an added knob and toggle on the saturation side of the pedal. I’ve used both in my set-up for some time now, so I figured it was finally time to explore a comparison between the two. Do you really need the V2, or could you save money and go with the V1?
