The Holy Rosary is a sweet chain of prayer, essential for the daily struggles of our lives. It is a powerful weapon against the mortal enemy of the soul, the devil, who attacks us in various ways, but whose preferred weapon is despair. This Rosary invites us to rekindle hope in our hearts; to trust in Mary as that loving intercessor, so beloved by the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that the Holy Trinity cannot resist her plea. Many expected Jesus' life to end on the cross. But it did not; He rose again on the third day, and this is the reason for our faith. As Saint Paul says, if we do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus, our faith is in vain. We can identify every trial with the cross. And every overcoming of a trial is a resurrection. Therefore, the Christian life is inconceivable without the cross, and even less so without the resurrection. To overcome temptation, against our natural inclination, is to forget ourselves in order to defend a virtue we consider necessary to be close to God, on His path of truth and life. And to overcome those brief yet eternal moments of temptation, when good will finally prevails, is when we feel resurrected. And in this journey, as the pilgrim Church that we are, in the twilight of our lives, in our final hour, so many battles won will not be in vain, battles won to conquer death alongside Jesus and with the intercession of our Mother, the Queen of Heaven and Earth.
