Texas Blue Giant Fig Graft Update On Brown Turkey | Success or Failure?!

Back on April 30th, I grafted a Texas Blue Giant fig scion onto my Brown Turkey fig tree, and now it’s time for an update! In this video, I show what’s happening at the graft point, where one side appears to be successfully fusing while the top portion failed due to poor cambium-to-cambium contact. I also buried another scion cutting directly into the soil, and it rooted successfully! I potted the rooted cutting into a clear 6-inch pot so I can monitor root development closely over the next few weeks. This is real-time gardening experimentation in my San Antonio backyard, showing both successes and setbacks while learning more about fig propagation and grafting techniques. I wrapped the graft back up and I’m giving it another month to see how it progresses. Stay tuned for future updates! #FigTree #TexasBlueGiant #FigGrafting #BrownTurkeyFig #PlantPropagation #Gardening #FruitTrees #BackyardGardening #CambiumLayer #RootDevelopment #SanAntonioGardening #TacticalGardener #GardenLife #PlantRoots #FigPropagation
