Introducing the Anso Birk - A Modern Puuoko style fixed blade
Preorder your BIRK here: https://anso-of-denmark.com/products/... BIRK, my modern take on the traditional Scandinavian fixed blade often referred to as a puukko. With BIRK, we wanted to bring together the best of two worlds. The simplicity and usefulness of a traditional Scandinavian fixed blade. A knife made to be carried, used and kept for years. And the performance of high-end modern materials, shaped through the clean and recognizable design language you already know from ANSØ. BIRK features a VANAX blade, a secure front-wrapped full tang handle and your choice of either leather or kydex sheath. It has been several years since I last made a fixed blade for our own production, and BIRK feels like the right knife to return with. And I know you’ve been waiting for the specs and details, so let’s get right to it. Specs, price and delivery Specs: Blade length: 95mm / 3.75” Overall length: 210mm / 8.25” Blade thickness: 3,5mm / 0.138” Grind: Modified Hollow Finish: Tumbled Zirblast Blade Steel: VANAX Hardness: 60HRC Weight: 126g / 4.4oz Sheath: Kydex or Leather of your choice Price: $450/$495 BIRK is sold by pre-order only. Estimated delivery: Mid September and forward The design story BIRK is rooted in the traditional Scandinavian puukko. Simple, capable and made to be used. But it is not a nostalgic design. It is my modern ANSØ take on that tradition. A clean fixed blade with deep Scandinavian roots, high-end modern materials and the kind of subtle details that only really make sense when the knife is in your hand. The name BIRK means birch tree in Danish. It is also the name of our first grandson, which makes this one feel even more personal.
