Israeli forces bombarded Syria and pursued the regime of Abu Muhammad al-Joulani. This major offensive followed the entry of the HTS militia, armed Bedouin groups, and Damascus forces into the Al-Suweyda region. Al-Joulani's supporters hunted down and persecuted the Druze minority living in the area. Lots of lives were lost, including children, the elderly, youth, women, and the defenseless. Israel intervened to protect the Druze and ensure there was no existential threat on the border with the Golan Heights. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Damascus forces to withdraw from Al-Suweyda or face the consequences of destruction. The Syrian Defense Minister was reportedly killed, while Al-Joulani, also known as Ahmeda al-Shara, fled Damascus and took refuge in the city of Idlib.
