Why is STO More "Star Trek" Than Modern Shows
Muted, brief visual references are used solely for commentary and analysis under fair use. I am convinced the real continuation of the TNG era happened on a game server instead of a soundstage. It is better. While the modern series are obsessed with bridge crew therapy and constant crying the game writers are actually doing the heavy lifting for the lore. They managed to fix that ridiculous plot hole about the Romulan sun by introducing the Iconians as the architects of the disaster. It is a relief to see a story that respects the rules of the galaxy and gives us the politics we have been missing since the 90s. Lore matters. This is much better than just chasing Member Berries for cheap applause.
