I demo this on my Z4 E86 on the nearside rear coil spring (this will be the Drivers side rear spring for North America viewers!) but the process is very similar on both sides of the car (i.e. Offside rear spring / passenger side rear spring in NA). However, the suspension won’t perform as it should, so you are best to change the broken rear spring as soon as you can! Also, you should always change the rear springs in pairs.
