Thank you. ================================================================= To celebrate Christmas on December 25, 2024, and New Year 2025, the 1707/Merauke Military District Command (Kodim 1707/Merauke) and the Merauke Police conducted a "Caring and Compassion Patrol" program at several locations in Merauke City on Sunday (December 22, 2024). The Commander of the 1707/Merauke Military District Command, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Johny Nofriady, S.E., M.Han, stated that the patrols carried out by Kodim 1707/Merauke personnel and the Merauke Police were aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of the community during Christmas and New Year celebrations. The patrols began at the 1707/Merauke Military District Command Headquarters and then proceeded to several locations in Merauke City, such as Jl. Kudamati, Jl. Cigombong, Jl. Kelapa Lima, and Jl. Mangga Dua. "On this occasion, we, along with the Merauke Police, also distributed aid to the community and encouraged them to work together to maintain security and order in the region so that the Christmas and New Year celebrations can proceed safely and comfortably," said the Dandim. On the same occasion, Merauke Police Chief, AKBP Leonardo Yoga, S.I.K., M.M., added that this was the second day of the Caring Patrol. This activity aimed to directly observe the situation in the community and ensure a safe and conducive environment for welcoming Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. "I, the Merauke Police Chief, along with the Commander of the 1707/Merauke Military District Command, am here among the community to provide a sense of security and comfort in welcoming Christmas and New Year 2025. We are also providing basic food aid, as a symbol of brotherhood," he said. "In addition to the basic food aid, we also distributed T-shirts emblazoned with the words 'Proud to Be an Indonesian Child'.
