Egyptian Zar / Gheitaniya / Part 2

Gheitaniya Zar is one of the three forms of Zar in Egypt this days. Evolved only in second half of XX century is now the only expanding Zar tradition in the country. Gheitaniya musicians form male only groups historically related to independent and marginalized sufi brotherhood. Hassan Abul Gheit is still a prominent saint in their current Zar pantheon.
