Switzerland Day 3 // Interlaken // Iseltwald // Lake Brienz Hike // Grandhotel Giessbach Waterfall

Starting the day with a final breakfast against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains set an ideal beginning. Our journey then took us to the captivating beauty of Interlaken. After settling into our hotel, we wandered through the charming streets, absorbing the town's ambiance. Later, we hopped on a bus to Iseltwald, renowned as a filming spot for the Korean drama "Crash Landing on You." As we walked along the wooden pier, we could almost sense the drama's atmosphere, envisioning the male lead playing the piano with the serene Lake Brienz as a backdrop. The allure of Lake Brienz was enhanced by the Seeburg Castle. Strolling along Iseltwald Bay, we admired the quaint village and relished the captivating views of the lake and its surroundings. Unfazed by the cold wind and rain, we embarked on a two-hour hike along Lake Brienz, heading towards the breathtaking Giessbach waterfall. Despite facing challenges and contemplating giving up, the absence of an alternative route compelled us to persist. The Giessbach waterfall unfolded before us in its splendid magnificence, offering a mesmerizing spectacle. Venturing beneath the waterfall, we absorbed its power, creating an unparalleled nature experience. The historic Grandhotel Giessbach, situated on the mountain, provided a panoramic view and stood as a testament to 148 years of architectural grandeur. Exploring the hotel allowed us to understand its rich history and architecture, providing a welcome escape from the distractions of modern life. The enchanting world of pristine nature enveloped us, fostering a profound sense of immersion and tranquility. Thankfully, the Grandhotel graciously arranged transportation back to the city, marking the end of our hike at the majestic waterfall. The day concluded with a buffet dinner at Migros, a culinary experience distinct from anything in our hometown. Grateful for the opportunity to savor a variety of Swiss delicacies, we reflected on the day's adventures, acknowledging the unique blend of nature, history, and culinary delights that Switzerland generously offered us.
