SWFL Eagles ~ Heartbreaking Update On F23 From SWFEC! Soar High & Forever Free F23! 💔 3.3.26

It is with a very heavy heart that I am passing along this heartbreaking information that F23 has been found deceased. F23 has been missing since Friday morning Feb 27th when she flew off the nest along with M15 in the normal course of the day. M15 returned later but F23 did not. There were reports of a deceased bald eagle found close to the nest & SWFEC is awaiting confirmation but believe that it is F23. They did put out an official statement tonight in regards to F23. My deepest condolences to the Pritchett family & to everyone who watched this nest and is grieving the loss of F23. Our hearts are broken & we are all grieving this very sad news. From SWFEC: " With heavy hearts, we are sharing an update regarding F23. After receiving several credible reports of a deceased eagle found less than two miles from the nest, we are presuming that F23 has passed. While we await any possible confirmation, the proximity and timing make this the most likely conclusion. This is a deeply sad day for our community. We were blessed to observe F23 for just two and a half seasons, but in that short time, her eagerness to learn, her devotion to M, and her care for her eaglets were unmistakable. She grew before our eyes, and so many of us felt connected to her journey. Loss in the wild is never easy to witness. It is a sobering reminder that nature, while beautiful, can also be unforgiving. Still, the time we were given to watch F23 soar, nurture, and thrive is something no one can take away.
