WE WEREN'T PREPARED FOR THIS IN THE OUTBACK|OODNADATTA TRACK|OVERLANDING-4X4-CARAVANNING

This week we weren't prepared for this in the outback and it nearly broke us. You can plan and prepare all you like but the reality is sometimes difficult to deal with as unexpected conditions test our resilience and patience. We explored Coward Springs, a beautiful and remote little oasis in the middle of the outback. Natural springs to soak in, historical structures and stories about the biggest cattle station that origionally existed in the South Australian Outback, beautiful remote sunsets and a surprise treat where you would least expect it. As we travelled further along the Oodnadatta Track we experienced the long dirt tracks and warm dry conditions. We were happy to arrive at the historical William Creek where we experienced true outback hospitality in a place that is completely unique near Lake Ayre which is fuller than ever after heavy rains. There are limited supplies along the Oodnadatta Track which presents the opportunity for Deryck to bake his first loaf of bread in the Ninja and it gets extremely messy! This is just a true reflection of an outback trip for ordinary people across the Oodnadatta Track on their big lap trip around Australia with friends. Raw and real.
