Genesis’ Numbers Are Built Different

Last video, I told you the Bible never actually said humanity is six thousand years old. This time, I show you why, and where the real answer actually starts. We leave Israel completely and go back to Mesopotamia, to a man named Abram, before he's ever called out of Ur. His language, his culture, and most importantly for this video, his math, all of it shows up in the shape of Genesis 1-11 in ways I never noticed until recently. Along the way: the strange parallel between Cain's line and Seth's line (and why it repeats again with Nimrod and Shem), what Genesis 2 is actually establishing that Genesis 1 doesn't, why Genesis 6:1 and Genesis 10 both work like narrative rewinds, and the actual math behind Genesis 5's ages, the same sacred number system the Sumerians used, with odds of about one in a billion against it being an accident.
