A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark (Mark 8:1-4) At that time, when Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed him. Suddenly a leper approached him, knelt before him, and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be cleansed.” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus told him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifice that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
