Sibiu-Pitești Motorway (#A1): the physical progress of the works on one of the most difficult mountain sections has increased significantly! Although the Revised Environmental Agreement has not been issued for all 31.33 km of Section 2 (#Boița - #Cornetu), the Turkish construction association (Mapa-Cengiz) is well mobilized on the site, with 650 workers and 200 machines, on the sectors on which work can be done. At this moment, the activity is simultaneously concentrated on 9 viaducts and 3 tunnels (Balota, Robești and Boița 1). On the viaducts, where the physical stage is between 14% and 87%, work is being done, depending on the execution stage, on piles, elevations and superstructure. At the #Balota tunnel (500 m), where the physical stage is 3%, work is underway on the entrance portal and 27 m of the right gallery have been excavated. At the #Robești tunnel (900 m), both galleries have been penetrated, and the physical stage is approximately 36%. Work is now underway on installing the waterproofing and concreting the lining. At the #Boița 1 tunnel (264 m / 247 m), where the physical stage is approximately 21%, 26 m of the right gallery and 106 m of the left gallery have been excavated. At the same time, other types of work are being carried out on the site: excavations and fillings (embankments), shotcrete (consolidations), pouring gutters (rainwater drainage). The extension of the work fronts depends on the issuance of the Revised Environmental Agreement, a document in the absence of which the Construction Permits cannot be issued for the entire construction site. On the route of Section 2 (Boița–Cornetu), with a length of 31.33 km, 7 tunnels (approximately 5 km), 24 bridges and 24 viaducts (approximately 11 km) will be built.
