Kay Tolliver - A New Singing Star In Country Style (1968) complete stereo album

Quite a surprising find, however I shouldn't be when it comes to some of the Musicor releases of the mid-late 60s. A member of the Wheeling Jamboree in West Virginia, Kay Herbig is a North Dakota Native. She was a regular on WWVA, and became close with Jack Ripley, a Nashville songwriter and one who wrote many tunes on this album. Through Jack whom was acquainted with Pappy Daily, she had recorded her first Musicor album in 1968. She had released several singles prior to this, and several after through the early 70s, but Kay had only released one more album in the 1980s under "Kay Kenner". From there she fell off the radar. This record deserves to be recognized though. Her voice was strong and had a knack for melody and capturing the song with her phrasing. The music accompaniment was no joke either. I am unsure of the musicians in the session, however the Steel Guitar really cuts through, almost Lloyd Green Style, as well as the Guitar which closely reminds me of Grady Martin's playing. I would love to know who the other musicians are however, so please feel free to correct OR confirm for me:) Side 1: I Can Still See Her In Your Eyes 0:00 That's My Trouble 2:28 We're Closer To Being Far Apart 4:52 I Just Don't Leave My Memory Everywhere 7:24 New And Different 10:00 Side 2: Let My Hand Control The Pen 12:36 My Big Night To Cry 15:15 Footsteps Of A Fool 17:15 I'm Not Coming Back To You 19:56 Gone Too Far 22:10 Disclaimer: All the songs within in the video belong to their respective owners and I or this channel does not claim any right over them.
