Tube Feeding of A Cleft Palate Puppy! Gypsy's tiny Baby girl Xenobia was born on 29 April with c-section with a Cleft Palate. Normally the Vet will check all the newborn pups to make sure they are alright but he missed this one. Had he noticed her cleft palate she would have been euthanized and not have come home. I believe there is a reason for everything. I will do all in my power to give her the support she needs in order to survive. The rest is in God's hands! This baby can not make a seal around the nipple for suckling. Bottle feeding is life threatening as she would aspirate. If she makes it past 6 weeks she will need surgery to repair her cleft palate.
