Taufik admitted that he initially only conducted an academic investigation into Roy Suryo's student status at UNJ. However, he said, Roy Suryo responded in a way that was considered to be cornering the reporter. He believes there was an element of malicious intent in Roy Suryo's statements. "Because he clarified about UNJ, we've discovered more and more odd things, including statements that are either slips or slips, and I've also noticed that sometimes they're not just slips, they have mens rea."
