Backyard Flooding Solution Continues: Dry Well Expansion, Catch Basins & Grading (Part 2)

These homeowners were struggling with serious stormwater drainage problems. Every heavy rain, water would creep toward the house because their backyard sits lower than the front yard. On top of that, runoff from higher neighboring properties — especially a sloped driveway — was pouring into the yard and making things worse. In Part 2 of this two-part project, we focus on keeping the neighbor’s runoff out and finishing the drainage system: ✔️ Used excavated soil to build a levee/planting bed along the property line ✔️ Prepared the area for future evergreens to provide privacy and stabilize the soil ✔️ Tied in the remaining downspouts to the dry well system ✔️ Completed final grading for proper water flow ✔️ Added grass seed and straw to restore the backyard This expanded system, combined with the large dry well and catch basins from Part 1, gives stormwater a safe place to go underground and prevents flooding around the foundation. 👉 Missed Part 1?
