We begin our hike at the Pederü mountain inn, which you can easily reach by car (toll road) or bus. Right from the start, we ascend on the Dolomite High Route 1. We are immediately rewarded with a stunning view of the Dolomite peaks from the first plateaus. Passing the small Fanes Hut (Ücia Pices Fanes), we continue along a stream to the Fanes Hut (Üćia de Fanes). From here, we climb higher to Lake Limo. At the pass there, a fantastic panorama opens up, revealing the Antoniusspitze, the Ciamin, and the Seekofel. After a break, we follow the signs downhill to the Lavarella Hut. The trail leads us past bathing cows, the icy-cold Green Lake (Lé Vërt), and countless streams that cascade like veins across the verdant mountain meadows. The highlight awaits at the historic Lavarella Hut (Üćia Lavarella): Here you'll find Europe's highest-altitude microbrewery, where we can sample their home-brewed beer and beer ice cream. 📊 Hike Facts at a Glance: • Start & Finish: Pederü Mountain Inn, San Vigilio (South Tyrol) • Distance: approx. 13.6 kilometers (circular route) • Elevation Gain/Loss: approx. 720 meters • Hiking Time: approx. 3.5 hours • Difficulty: Moderate mountain hike on well-maintained paths and sections of the Dolomite High Route.
