I primi 30 anni del Parco Valle del Menago

An anniversary is always something more than a recurrence. Almost always the temporal milestone is the result of an evolution rich in changes, challenges, bets with destiny, in which satisfactions become great precisely because of the effort spent to conquer them. Those who enter the Parco Valle del Menago di Bovolone today, in the heart of the Veronese plain, enjoy a place full of serenity, because they are immersed in a natural context made up of rows of trees, animals, a small lake with a prehistoric village (among the most appreciated at a national and international academic level) and much more. In short, a true naturalistic and faunal oasis (some species of birds that had not been seen here for decades have returned) which has become, in recent years, an indispensable reference for the community of Bovolone and the entire district. But thirty years ago this area was not as we experience it today, tidy, organized, accessible to all. There was a fruitless, marginal campaign, carried out by a few elderly farmers who had taken over the land after the Second World War. Luciano Zago, environmental councilor in the 90s, with many ups and downs managed to pass the redevelopment project that actually gave birth to the Parco Valle del Menago, imagining then what it has become today. A milestone, in short, that rewards the foresight of those who believed in the goodness of the project and of those, like Gea (the association that takes care of the management) and the municipal administration, who carry on this jewel with the aim of cultivating environmental awareness and offering a place to recharge in the amenity of a biodiverse nature that has returned to shine.
