ZOIDS INFINITY is finally playable on PCSX2X6 through TeknoParrot! Big news for Namco System 246 arcade preservation as another long-lost giant robot game returns. Some exciting news dropped from the TeknoParrot team today, and honestly, this was one I wasn't expecting to see so soon. According to the developers, Zoids Infinity is now working on the PCSX2X6 fork through the TeknoParrot front-end, bringing another rare Namco System 246 title back from the brink. If you've never heard of Zoids before, don't worry, you're probably not alone. The long-running Japanese franchise features giant mechanical animals ranging from robot dinosaurs and lions to wolves and countless other creations. Honestly, if somebody looked at Jurassic Park and Gundam and thought "why not both?", the result was probably Zoids. Although later releases helped introduce more players to the series, the original arcade version remained something few people outside Japan ever had the opportunity to experience. Built for Namco's PlayStation 2-based System 246 hardware and designed around twin-stick controls, it spent decades confined largely to dedicated arcade cabinets. That's why developments like this are always exciting. While Zoids Infinity EX Neo on the Xbox 360 ensured the series would survive in some form, preserving the original arcade release is something entirely different. Every version matters, and every game rescued from obscurity is another victory for preservation. What I love most about the PCSX2X6 project is how unpredictable it has become. What started out as just a handful of playable games has rapidly grown into something much larger. It almost feels like every week another forgotten arcade game suddenly returns from the dead, and honestly, I'm not complaining. Congratulations once again to everyone involved with PCSX2X6, and congratulations to the TeknoParrot team as well on surpassing 40,000 high-score submissions. That's an incredible milestone and a testament to how passionate this community continues to be.
