« i could touch a hundred thousand souls, but none of them would ever feel like home» Long story short, Faith and Jimmy have both taken up the mantles of their respective parents after Hope and Steve retired from the team. Cassie (Nina Dobrev) is Stature and leads the Avengers with Carol Danvers. PJ (Cody Christian) is a year younger than Faith and has become Ant-Man following Scott's retirement. Faith and Jimmy have known each other since they were little, having grown up together and develop romantic feelings towards each other along the way (and they think no one knows, but EVERYONE knows, much to the amusement of their parents). They dance around each other in a viscous cycle of one being willing to commit while the other is terrified of things going wrong. Then Hope vanishes from reality. Faith is lost without her anchor, the person she loved and admired most in life. She pulls away even farther, spiraling, until she realizes her mom would've wanted her to be happy, no matter the circumstances. Right after she and Jimmy finally get together and admit they love each other, Stephen Strange sends her a message - she can fix her mom's disappearance (even the event that gave Faith her powers; the Decimation) by going back to 2015 and changing everything, preventing the events of Civil War from happening in an attempt to thwart Thanos.
