1 Year Living in Southern Alabama — What It’s Really Like

What is it really like living in Southern Alabama? One year ago I packed up my life and moved to the Gulf Coast of Alabama to experience Southern living for myself. Over the past year I’ve explored small towns, coastal communities, local food, and the unique culture that makes this part of the South so different from anywhere else in America. From Mobile and Dauphin Island to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, I’ve spent the last year learning what life is really like here — the good, the unexpected, and the things nobody tells you before moving to Alabama. In this video I talk about what surprised me most about living in Southern Alabama, the lifestyle on the Alabama Gulf Coast, and why so many people are starting to discover this hidden corner of the South. If you’ve ever wondered about: • Moving to Alabama • Living on the Alabama Gulf Coast • Southern small-town life • Cost of living in Alabama • Gulf Coast lifestyle This video will give you a real look at life here after a full year. And after exploring so many towns across the region… I finally chose the place I want to call home. My new hometown is Fairhope, Alabama. Located on the beautiful shores of Mobile Bay, Fairhope is one of the most charming small towns in the South and has quickly become one of my favorite places on the Gulf Coast.
