She experienced the atomic bombing of Hiroshima when she was 17 years old. Ms. Asaumi had a 2-year-old brother, a younger brother in 4th grade, and a younger sister in 6th grade at the time. The atomic bomb was dropped after the air-raid warning had been lifted, and after everyone had gone outside. In that moment, what did Ms. Asaumi feel, and what went through her mind?
