Albania Adventure: From the "City of a Thousand Windows" to the depths of Osum Canyon! 🇦🇱🚐 In this second part of our Albania trip, we take you to places that left us speechless—in both the good and the... well, "adventurous" sense! First, we explore Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage site. By day, the city captivates with its history and the Mangalem district, but at night, it reveals a magic all its own. When the lights in the historic houses come on, you instantly understand why it’s called the "City of a Thousand Windows." An absolute must for anyone traveling to Albania! But then things get serious: we set off for Osum Canyon. The drive there is spectacular, but our parking spot right on the edge of the precipice really put us to the test. Between the thrill of the descent and the worry about how we’d ever get back up, we experienced Albania’s wild nature firsthand. The highlight (or the warning?): Don’t trust your GPS blindly! We actually wanted to head to the thermal springs in Përmet, but the mountain road turned out to be a dead end for our motorhome. What followed was a 300 km detour back via Berat. 😅 Fortunately, we found a real gem near Vlorë: Ecocamp Vlora. It’s a wonderful place with a great story and a host who invites guests to a communal barbecue every evening. The kind of hospitality you only find in Albania!
