Welcome to the Art Lab Collaboration, where we are celebrating our upcoming Art Lab Retreat! Nate Bright and Just Janese and I have swapped techniques for today.. fasten your seatbelts and hang on, this is going to be a fun ride! Playlist for collab:    • August retreat   Im using a 12x12 wood panel Colors Blick Sap Green Metallic Gold Brilliant Yellow Green Metallic Teal Liquitex Basics Unbleached Titanium Metallic Aqua Green DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics 24K Gold Pebeo Studios Iridescent Blue Green Feral Cloud Mix Golden Glass Bead Gel Pouring Medium: only Water and Paint Observations: I really dislike thin watery paint, so this piece had my tummy in knots before we started! The beginning where I was splattering the paint was lots of fun, but when we got to the spraying part there was so much wet on the wood panel that I didnt have much hope for the end result. I covered it with crinkled up plastic wrap and put something heavy on top and let it dry for a few days. When I picked it up again it actually looked pretty cool! The imprints from the plastic wrap were visible and somehow shinier than the other paints.. and rather than play with super watery paint again, I decided to use this small round sponge brush and dab. I have to say I was so much more comfortable for the second part of this video! It was really fun and easy and I could see the progress we were making. Overall, I did enjoy this experience. Stepping out of our comfort zones is how we grow and learn... I love the final result, I think its beautiful and sparkling and has lots of different very cool textures from the plastic wrap to the leaves and then all the shimmer from the sponged on colors.. and then that little bit of glass bead gel at the end. Lots of fun! Big thanks to Nate for pushing me out of my comfort zone! I hope I return the favor haha!!
