Replacing the turbo inlet and exhaust gaskets on a 1999-2005 MK4 1.8T Jetta

I started to smell exhaust in my 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. I wanted to share how I went about diagnosing where the leak was, and then how to replace the two faulty gaskets that I found. Parts I needed: Downpipe gasket: 1J0253115R Downpipe nuts: N10209009 Exhaust Washers (x7, used around both gaskets): 058145791 Turbo to Manifold gasket: 06A253039E Turbo mounting bolts (x3): 058145540 Exhaust Clamp: 1K0253141M Air intake O-ring: 003519063
