The collapse in Villa Gesell has already left one dead, and rescuers are still working to help those trapped beneath the rubble. After several hours of operations, the Buenos Aires Province Minister of Security, Javier Alonso, announced that there is already one fatality as a result of the collapse: "It is an 89-year-old man." He also emphasized that one person has already been rescued and was rushed to the local hospital for treatment. Although the exact number of people is unknown at this time, it is estimated that between seven and eleven are trapped. Several people have already been arrested, all workers, and are at the courthouse to testify. The Argentine Federal Police will be in charge of the forensic investigations. The case has been handed over to prosecutor Verónica Zamboni, who classified the case as negligent damage.
