Today I would like to REVERSE this situation a bit and tell you which treatments and in what specific situations I don't recommend. I'll start with the eye area. I don't recommend Botox treatments for the eye area when the eyelid is drooping. And I'm talking about Botox for the forehead area. This is because this can achieve the opposite effect. It can make the eyelid droop more. In this situation, especially if there is ptosis, if it's severe, it's best to consider blepharoplasty. This is a surgical procedure to remove the excess eyelid. Regarding the second thing, the eye area. I also don't recommend Botox if you have significant skin laxity under the eye area, or even in the lateral corner. Injecting and administering Botox there will result in increased laxity in this area, not tightening it, as we might expect. Why does this happen? Because the skin that naturally attaches to the orbicularis oculi muscle also becomes tighter when it's tense. When the muscle is relaxed, the skin attached to it also becomes more wavy, looser. This causes wrinkles under the eye, or bags under the eyes, to become more pronounced and even more visible. What happens in such a situation? Think about laser therapy based on the principle of stimulating our own skin to firm this area. Or, for example, biostimulators, which are the same thing – revitalization and stimulation of the eye area. Only later, once you've achieved this skin tightening effect, can you consider Botox. If there's a significant overhang of skin under the eye, blepharoplasty is also worth considering. Moving on, there's the nose. In the case of the nose, I don't recommend hyaluronic acid contouring treatments after previous rhinoplasty procedures. Why? Because every surgical procedure, every surgical intervention, changes our facial anatomy. It doesn't dramatically change the overall face, but it does alter the course of blood vessels. The nasal area is a very dangerous area, one of the most dangerous when it comes to filler injection. Furthermore, the anatomy changes, meaning the conditions we expect when looking at or browsing atlases. If this anatomy changes, the risk of complications increases. And that's something worth avoiding. Beneath the nose is the mouth. The lips are the number one choice for beauty treatments in aesthetic medicine clinics. I specifically said "beautifying" because it's not anti-aging medicine, but rather lip shaping, beautification, and more of a lip enhancement. When do I not recommend lip treatments? When they've already been filled multiple times. And when it's clear that the lips won't absorb any more filler, that they're already so full. When there are lumps from previous fillers. When we see migration beyond the red area of ​​the lips. Migration occurs when we see that the hyaluronic acid has moved from the red area to the top or bottom of the upper lip. Or when we see a "bulge" already on the white part of the skin, not in the mucosa. Also, when we see that the lips are already too large—or, as I said, repeatedly enlarged. But the same applies when they are already too large for the shape of our face.
