The third city on my trip to Australia is Melbourne. I flew from Brisbane to Melbourne using Qantas, Australia's national carrier. My first hotel in Melbourne was The Westin Melbourne. I received an upgrade to a large room at The Westin Melbourne, and although there is no club lounge, I was given a coupon to enjoy a glass of wine or beer at the lobby bar. I wrapped up my first day in Melbourne by having steak and seafood pasta at the Grill Bar and a glass of wine at the hotel lobby bar. I was surprised once again by the prices in Melbourne—or rather, Australia—which were higher than I expected, but I decided to be satisfied with the dinner I had, which was in a great atmosphere and tasted delicious. On the second day, I had breakfast, toured the Botanic Gardens and the National Gallery, and had pizza and beer for lunch at an Italian restaurant on Hardware Lane. On the way back to the hotel, I browsed around Melbourne's shopping center, rested in my room, and finished the day with a stroll through the Melbourne nightscape. It is said that Melbourne, despite its high cost of living, has been voted the world's most livable city for several years.
