Rhythmic Building Blocks #8 | Rhythmic Modes But Harder
It's amazing how much you can get out of just one rhythm. This video focuses a lot on the Rhythmic Modes of the "funk clave": how to practice them, listen for them in music, and use them in real life. Then we briefly try the same technique on the guitar intro to Stevie Wonder's "For Once in My Life" to see how well it will work on a different rhythm altogether. Also LMFAO makes an appearance somehow. I don't know, video editing brain took over. 0:00 Previously on Rhythmic Building Blocks 0:42 16 Modes of Funk Clave 5:27 The Listening Portion 8:25 Using in Real Life 11:18 “For Once in My Life” 14:14 Coming Up Next 15:50 Really Cool Stuff Grammy-winning guitarist with Snarky Puppy, Forq, and Bokanté shares an advanced lesson in rhythm.
