Herbivores of Hope - Traditional Regenerative Farming in the Lake District - Short Horn Cattle
Gowbarrow Hall Farm is a family run farm on the south facing shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. The farm is under the management of Sam and Claire Beaumont, as the third generation. They are passionate about maintaining the natural beauty of the landscape and enriching the wildlife that falls within it. They care for the environment and are conscious of how farming fits within the wider global issues that our planet is facing. In this video we learn about the importance of tadeonal farming methods, including mob grazing and paddock rotation and the effect these practices have on the health of the soil and ultimately the entire environment. Sam and Claire have opted to use heritage breeds, such as the Kune Kune pig and Fell pony to achieve their aims. http://gowbarrow.co.uk/ Bennet Lee is the founder of Heritage Foods and is passionate about top quality, heritage bred meat and teaching his community about the importance of traditional regenerative farming. https://www.heritagefoods.com.hk/ Miles Cooper is a filmmaker from the South West of England. https://milescooper.co.uk / smiles_cooper
