Bernadotte and Napoleon: Friends or Enemies?

The relationship between Bernadotte and Napoleon is often shaded by later events, namely Bernadotte's supposed defection in joining the Coalition Forces against France. This has unfortunately led many people to conclude that the two men had therefore always shared a mutual contempt and were enemies from the start. The truth, however, is more complicated, and in this video we track their relationship from their first meeting in 1797 until 1809, the point at which a divide does truly begin to appear.
