Le Storie della Fotografia | Gli anni Novanta. Con Walter Guadagnini
A series of lectures dedicated to the history of Italian photography from the 1970s to the present. The 1990s were characterized primarily by the emergence of a process of institutionalization of photography: Walter Guadagnini, one of Italy's most authoritative historians and critics of photography, explains how this process coincided with the arrival of a new generation of photographers, characterized by an ambivalent relationship with the generation that emerged in the previous decade. On the one hand, there was a continued focus on landscape, particularly the anthropized, while on the other, there was a sense of need to break free from the representational logic of classical photography, to engage with different languages and a fully international dimension, both in the choice of themes and in the working practices. With Walter Guadagnini http://bit.ly/StorieFotografiaGuadagnini A series of seminars devoted to the history of Italian photography from the Seventies to the present. The Nineties were characterized above all by the establishment of a process of institutionalization of photography: Walter Guadagnini, one of the most authoritative photographic historians and critics in Italy explains how this process corresponds to the arrival on the scene of a new generation of photographers characterized by an ambivalent relationship with the generation that emerged during the previous decade. On the one hand we saw a continued interest in the landscape, in particular the anthropized landscape, while on the other photographers felt a need to free themselves from the representational logics of classical photography and tackle different idioms within a fully international dimension, both in terms of the themes chosen and in working practices.
