Pokémon Pokopia - Sparkling Skylands Night (cover)

~~Support me on Patreon for sheet music and other great perks!~~ http://bit.ly/3bfvX37 It's everyone's favorite level! Except that might be a rather lukewarm-hot take, as this level is quite a challenge to navigate and repairing the roads and buildings is such a mess. Oh and do I mention you fall off the map? Like, a lot? No fr though, I actually loved traversing the different islands, finding little hidden treasures and making Dragonite 6 alarm clocks which felt like a main quest in itself lol. The music playing while I spent many ungodly late hours slowly beautifying each part of the island, making stairs, and running out of concrete blocks, these two sections of the soundtrack at night really stood out to me. The chromaticism and harmony are just exquisite, and so tastefully placed. I really had fun figuring out how to translate some of these sounds to real instruments, many of the original having reverse and delay effects, making it questionable how some parts can even be covered on live instruments without losing the effect. I went with having some of the hand pan parts on vibraphone, and what might be a hammered dulcimer? on marimba - alto flute on viola, etc, and I managed to make it all finally cohesive! It was cool also fully producing this cover myself, with only a tad bit of help recording the strings, but tackling the rest of the roles reminded me why I really like making these videos; to showcase the amount of hats I enjoy wearing when making a full VGM cover from the ground up! I hope this video gives all the newly nostalgic feels of exploring the sky islands. Enjoy my cover of Sparkling Skylands!
