Their unique, upbeat sound has roots in Jazz, Drum & Bass, House and Gospel music. In their short time on the scene, Knats have been recognised and broadcast by Soho Radio, BBC Newcastle and WDR3, playlisted twice by Spotify on their ‘All New Jazz’ playlist, as well as being on the cover of ‘Jazz Fresh Finds’. Having gigged around the North East and the UK, supporting the likes of Vels Trio, Blue Lab Beats and Tom Ford, Knats now operate in London. “Miz”, Knat’s 8th release, composed by Stan Woodward (bass), shows a new direction for the bands trajectory, stressing Stan’s love for the melodic sounds of 70s and 80s jazz fusion combined with his love for 2-step garage.
