Forest Conservation is Conversation on Life | Srinivasulu IFS | TEDxABBS

Forests are more than trees - they are the laboratories of life, holding secrets of biodiversity, medicine, food security, and survival. From 10 million species that interact in ecosystems, to life-saving medicines like Quinine (malaria), Vincristine (leukaemia), Taxol (cancer), and Digoxin (heart ailments) - forests have always been nature’s greatest pharmacy. Wild genes discovered in forests helped fuel the Green Revolution. In this talk, Srinivasulu shares how Conservation is not just about protecting tigers or trees - it is about protecting human survival, innovation, and dignity of life. Srinivasulu is a dedicated and remarkable individual whose steadfast commitment to the environment, forest and wildlife conservation truly sets him apart. As an exceptional officer, he has gone far beyond routine responsibilities, immersing himself in the protection of nature and natural resources. His efforts reflect not only professional excellence but also a deep personal passion for safeguarding the planet and promoting the well-being of its people. #Biodiversity #WildlifeConservation #Forest #NatureHeals #SustainableFuture #ForestsAndFood #ForestsAndMedicine Srinivasulu, a senior Indian Forest Service officer from the 1997 batch, currently serves as the Principal Secretary of Forest, Ecology, and Environment, Government of Karnataka.
