ELP: Lucky Man - cover by a Virtual ELP Cover Band
For this project we selected another classic masterpiece by Emerson, Lake and Palmer. This one was released as a single and became a hit in its day. Though it is a classical guitar-based song, we included an additional Hammond organ solo after the 3rd verse, before the famous Moog synthesizer solo ending. The idea of extending the song here came from a 1996 ELP concert in Budapest, in which I first heard Keith include a very nice melodic organ solo. Fortunately that concert was broadcast on Hungarian TV, and I was able to record it on my VCR, to learn it. My band “Artons” always plays this extended version on stage. Len’s colorful voice in both the lead and the backing vocals, along with Ágnes’ and Mónika’s additional backing vocals gives a special flavor to our video. I hope you will enjoy our version of this song. There are still lots of masterpieces in our wish-list of songs to do, and we are eagerly looking forward to the next challenge…So stay tuned!
