The series focuses on the galactic struggle for dominance between three species: the adaptable and mobile Terran, the insectoid Zerg, the enigmatic Protoss, and the creator race, which is not playable. It is only used in references within the story's plot; they are presented as the creators of the last two races—the mythical Xel'Naga—in a distant part of the Milky Way known as the Koprulu Sector during the early 26th century. The series debuted with the game StarCraft in 1998. Since then, the series has grown to include numerous other games, as well as eight novels, two articles in Amazing Stories, a board game, and other licensed products such as collectible figures. The game debuted at E3 in 1996 using a modified version of the Warcraft II graphics engine. The StarCraft II series continued with StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm in 2013 and StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void in 2015. Some information about the game's races: Terran They are humans exiled from Earth centuries ago, who settled in the Koprulu Sector. Their advantages are: Buildings can be constructed anywhere; some buildings can fly. A large arsenal and a variety of strategies. They can repair mechanical units and buildings. Their weaknesses are: A Battleship can only construct one building at a time. If a building's health bar reaches red, it catches fire and is destroyed if not repaired in time. Protoss They are highly technologically advanced beings who use their psionic powers as their primary weapon. Their advantages are: Half of the health bar of each Protoss unit or building is actually the shield bar, which recharges.
