Trabajo de Invierno en los Llanos orientales (Ganadería extensiva) - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel

Twitter @juangangel Extensive livestock farming is the practice of raising livestock on large tracts of land where animals can graze freely. It involves raising cattle on vast areas of land, which can be as high as two animals per hectare. These areas are typically natural ecosystems modified by humans to suit their needs, following natural cycles with abundant plant production for cattle feed. Monitoring and control of the animals is sporadic, as they are allowed to graze freely throughout the entire area to forage for their own food. Extensive livestock farming is considered the most common type of livestock farming, generally practiced in tropical America, Australia, and the Pacific Islands; it is almost nonexistent in Asia and Africa. In Latin America, areas undergoing deforestation are commonly used for extensive livestock farming. Within this system, we could incorporate sustainable livestock farming, which refers to livestock farming that maintains a certain level of production over time without harming the environment.
